By accessing or using Butler, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform. These terms apply to all users including customers and service providers.
Butler is a two-sided marketplace connecting customers with independent service providers. Butler is not a service provider itself and does not employ the providers listed on the platform. Providers are independent contractors.
All payments are held in escrow by our payment processor (Stripe) until the customer confirms the job is complete. Butler charges a 15% platform fee on all completed transactions. Disputed funds are held until resolution.
Providers must maintain any required licenses, permits, and insurance for their service category. Providers agree not to solicit customers off-platform to avoid Butler fees. Violations may result in immediate account termination.
Customers may cancel bookings free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled service. Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a 50% fee. No-shows are charged the full booking amount.
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through Butler's dispute resolution system. Butler's decision in disputes is final and binding with respect to escrow funds.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Butler shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Butler's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid in the disputed transaction.
